What a lovely week for cycling in the rain! Cycling in the rain has its advantages, like being motivated to ride faster to stay warmer or the exciting possibility of being able to ride through a waist deep puddle alongside Petersham TAFE. But best of all it's a chance to use your wet weather gear!

Australian distributor Rucsac has recently ceased distribution of the German outdoor equipment company Vaude. We picked up the remainder of the Vaude cycling stock at crazy prices which includes awesome rain jackets and pants lovely gloves and high quality panniers, including a nifty one that also becomes a backpack. We're selling them all for half price!

Many of the jackets are ultra high tech, folding down into tiny proportions, weighing only 200g and boasting breathability as well as waterproofness. This last trait is extremely important when using rain gear in active situations such as riding, running or hiking. If you're sitting on your bum on a motorbike then breathability, size and weight aren't so important. On a bicycle it avoids having to decide whether to be soaked from rain or soaked from sweat - you can be comfortable and look awesome with good rain gear. There is also some 'town' rain gear up for grabs. These include the Town jacket and the Corbis jacket. These don't fold down as small but they keep you warmer and look more formal.
