* We can only accommodate walk-ins for tube changes and VIP Repairs (single-issue repair on a bike purchased from Glow Worm). We do not have capacity to receive bikes purchased elsewhere as walk-ins, nor are we able to receive General Service bookings as walk-ins.

All electric bikes need regular servicing in order to keep them safe and performing well. We're here to ensure that your electric bike is regularly serviced to our high standards.

We service all electric bikes that we've sold, and offer VIP pricing for customers who have purchased their electric bike from Glow Worm.

We have a fully equipped workshop designed for electric bikes, including cargo bikes, and our mechanics have extensive experience servicing most major electric bike brands.

We are an authorised dealer for Bosch, Shimano, Bafang & Ezee electric systems.  We recommend that a regularly used e-bike (especially a commuter or cargo bike) receive a general service at least annually. If your ebike has an unexpected issue that falls outside the scope of a general service, such as a mechanical fault or electrical issue, we'll provide you with a quote for repair before beginning work.

General Service Inclusions

  • Inspection and assessment of bike condition
  • Checking electrical operation of the bike (battery, motor, display, pedal assist and lights) and replacement of faulty electrical components, including cables, plugs and terminals (labour only, additional charge for parts)
  • Drivetrain adjustment, cleaning and lubrication
  • Brake adjustment. For hydraulic disc brakes, this includes cleaning, lubricating, adjustment, hydraulic oil top up and a quick or full bleed if required
  • Wheel dish and true to ensure wheels are straight and centred
  • Replacement of worn mechanical parts including tyres, brake pads, brake rotors, chain and cassette (labour only, additional charge for parts)
  • Bolt check and test ride

Booking Process

Make A Booking

We require a booking for all General Services & Repairs. Fill out the form above, or contact us by phone, email or SMS to book in your service.

Aside from tube changes, we cannot accommodate on-the-spot repairs.

Please book ahead, as our workshop is routinely booked weeks in advance.

Drop Off Your Bike

Drop your bike off before 10am on the day of your booking, or in the days prior to your booking.

If you're a Glow Worm VIP, you can request a loan bike* to use during your service.

* Subject to availability, please request when booking

Service & Repair

After inspecting your ebike, we'll create a quote including all parts required for the service & send it to you before commencing.

We aim to have services complete in 1-2 days. We are unable to guarantee same day completion.

If your bike requires more complex repairs or we need to order in parts, the timeframe for completion may be longer.

Collect Your Bike

We'll SMS you when your service is complete & the bike is ready for collection.

We cannot know in advance exactly how long your service will take, so please wait to be notified before arriving to collect.

FAQ

No, we do not work on all electric bikes.

NSW regulations prohibit us from working on uncompliant or overpowered ebikes.

Due to insurance limitations, we are not able to work on ebike conversions, unless originally converted by Glow Worm.

We are unable to work on ebikes that do not meet our quality standard, or brands that we cannot get parts or support for.  

We do work on all electric bikes that we have sold. If your bike was purchased elsewhere, contact us to check if your ebike is one that we can work on.

We will refer you to another suitable bike shop if we can't work on your bike. 

No, we do not work on non-electric bikes, but we can refer to you another workshop that can.

In order to accommodate customers who have purchased their electric bike from us, we are currently only taking bookings for electric bikes. 

The exception to this is tube changes, and existing workshop customers.

If you have previously had your non-electric bike serviced with us (excluding tube changes) we will gladly continue to work on it. Please contact us to book in.

We don't have the capability to pick up or drop off bikes, but we can put you in touch with a courier who can.

Maxi Taxis, Uber XL or GoGet vans may accommodate some bikes.

Stanmore Train Station is a short ride from our workshop & has elevator access. The Sydney Metro at Sydenham station is a short ride from our workshop.

If you are stranded, a mobile mechanic may be your best option.

No, we no longer do electric bike conversions.

We can try, but there is limited assistance we can provide if your bike is not here in the workshop. 

Our mechanics are prioritising booked services, and have very limited time available to talk on the phone.

Please email us, including photos and/or videos of the issue, and someone will get back to you when they can. However, we cannot guarantee that it will be possible to diagnose the issue or talk you through a repair. 

If you're running late on the day of your booking and won't make it by 10am, please call and let us know. Depending on the workload for that day, we may or may not be able to receive your bike late.

You can drop your bike off in the days prior to your booking if you know you're not going to be able to make it in the morning.

If we haven't received your bike by 10am, and you haven't called and let us know you're running late, your booking will be cancelled and you will need to rebook to the next available date that works for you.

We do not charge cancellation fees or late fees.

If you purchased your ebike from us, you're a Glow Worm VIP! You receive the discounted rate for your service & other benefits. Thanks for choosing to shop with us :) 

We are unable to complete your service while you wait, as it is not possible to say exactly how long your service will take.

When you book in, you'll be provided with a booking day, rather than a specific time slot.

We aim to have services completed in 1-2 days and cannot guarantee same-day completion. If we need to order in parts or complete more complex repairs, this timeframe may be longer.

If you've travelled a long way to get to us, please let us know. We will try to accommodate your timeframe as best we can.

If you purchased your ebike from us, you are welcome to use a loan bike for the duration of your service, subject to availability. If you need a loan bike, please notify us at the time of booking.

You will be notifiied by SMS when your bike is ready for collection.

We have very limited capacity to do on the spot repairs. Our workshop is routinely booked weeks in advance, and while we can take walk-ins for bikes purchased from us, this does not guarantee a quick fix. Keeping on top of servicing and maintenance is the best way to avoid getting stranded.

If you purchased your electric bike from us and you are having an unexpected issue, we'll try to accommodate you as best we can. Contact us to organise a walk-in.

Walk-ins are assessed at the first available opportunity after completion of booked services.
